Fay Vincent, Photographer and founder of FMV Photography
So here we are - the excruciating 'about you' section! It's like that dread that you feel in a group scenario when the host says 'Hey, why don't we go round the circle and tell each other a little bit about ourselves?' You smile and nod but inside there are white knuckles and cold sweat!
However, I genuinely do think it's hugely important that you gel with your photographer, especially during your wedding day. I mean, we are usually there from the get-go, so it really helps if you don't feel awkward with them! I always meet my couples prior to the day, often twice, so we are all happy it's a good fit.

So who am I? I started my business in 2010 after being made redundant from my 'proper job' and haven't really looked back. Eleven years, over one hundred weddings and countless sessions and corporate work later I think I've finally found my own style, I try to forget the early days of colour-popping and over-use of random filters. It's a learning process - but just no haha!
Hopefully, you can see from my more recent work that I love the bold colours of nature and high-contrast black-and-white images. I like to keep it simple... and timeless.
I had my own high Street studio for a few years which really helps you learn about lighting, but outdoors is where I really love to be. Nothing is more flattering than great natural light and Scotland is just so beautiful, it's not hard to find a fabulous location.
I have a real passion for landscape photography, it's what first captured my imagination, so photographing your family within that landscape is my favourite thing.
Outside of photography?
Outside of photography?
I live on the edge of the Angus glens, so I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't disappear for the day with the dog and my camera frequently. I'm a total coffee addict, terrible at keeping my car clean, 'The Good Place' is my favourite series (WHAT AN ENDING!) and I absolutely live to hear my daughters belly splitting giggle.
Then there is my awesome partner Rob and our recent addition - Obi the Husky/Collie X. He has his own Instagram, sad I know! I'm a true crime addict and after completing my Access to Life Sciences course at Dundee College in 2019 I am now in my 2nd year of a Geoscience Degree at Aberdeen University.
I'll sit down now and let the next person in the circle speak ; )
